Assignment# 4 (first-round....)

High Key is really hard for me.
All my high keys look gray to me.
i think i did not have enough bracketing.
also the light.
i will re-do this assignment during weekend.
Low Key is really fun to play with.
but, again, i have the bracketing problems.
i will fix it on my second round.
i like how we talk about what we did right and wrong during class.
it really helps me a lot. also i can learn from others mistakes.
i love this assignment.

Irving Penn

Irving Penn was born on June 16, 1917. He was an American Photographer. He was know for his his portraiture and fashion photography. He studied at the Philadelphia Museum School and graduated in 1938. He known as a post World War II feminine chic and glamour photography.

Penn's work were full of clarity, composition, careful arrangement of objects or people, form, and the use of light. He also photographs "still life" objects and found objects in unusual arrangements with great detail and clarity.

53 photos were shown in a solo exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Ar in 2002, the subjects appear sculptural and like a primitive Venus in most of his prints. In July 2005, Penn's work was shown at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC in an exhibit titled "Irving Penn: Platinum Prints." Between January and April 2008, 67 portraits are shown at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York City in an exhibit titled "Close Encounters".

Assignment #3

This is assignment #3.
I used my little tripod to help me finish this assignment.
I love tripod. Without tripod, i can only take blurry pictures...
I shot two different times to make this assignment.
The first time, i just shot pinecone for my entire assignment.
That was boring, but it helped me to know more about my camera.
The second time, i tried to take pictures of a tree.
It was really fun. i like how the tree looks so lively when i took it.
And i took 50 random pictures of static people.

Assignment #2

This is my first REAL assignment.
I was really excited about this.At first i was going to write a jornal for my volleyball team by pictures. That was my idea. But in the middle of the game, i was out of batteries...anyway, one-third of my numbers are about my volleyball team. And the others are my daily life.i just love it.





This is #56. I made it up with 6 bananas. It was really fun to play with numbers with fruit.
